
Since 1924, the Women’s Institute of Prince Edward Island has played an integral part in Old Home Week. Members from over 100 branches across the island host this display of unique talents in the Handicraft and Arts Exhibit in a friendly competition.
There are 15 different classes to enter ranging from quilting to rug hooking, knitting to sewing, art to photography, food to flowers.
P.E.I. Women's Institute - Special PrizesThe Prince Edward Island Women's Institute, with assistance from the Department of Innovation and Advanced Learning will award a prize of $100.00 for each of the following categories to be presented on Awards Day, Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 10:30 a.m.
1. To exhibitor with the best hand-quilted quilt in the show (minimum size 60'' x 80'') - Diane Williams
2. To exhibitor with the best afghan in the show - Carol Jenkins
3. To exhibitor with the best needlework Class F - D. Kent Pond
4. To exhibitor accumulating most points in Classes C, D, F, G and H - Sylvia Andrew
5. To exhibitor with the best hooked rug in the show - Nancy Taylor
6. To exhibitor with the best entry in "Golden Years" class - Judy Kenny
7. To exhibitor with the best photograph in the show (sections 1-8) - Norma Clow
8. To exhibitor with the best painting or drawing in any medium - Noella Richard
9. To exhibitor accumulating most points in Classes N - Foods - Marilyn Sentner
10. To exhibitor accumulating most points in Classes R - Flowers and/or Class T - Vegetables - Nancy Gill
